Religious liberty always trumps troop cohesion except when the immediate needs of the military cannot allow it.

If somebody wants a halal MRE they get a halal MRE unless he is at a FOB in the middle of nowhere on Day 23 and all the halal MREs have run out.

Only then can the military say "tough shit. Now suck it up and drive on".

I like halal MREs.
