Although there are tars in pot smoke, even stoners do not consume it in the quantities and over the years necessary to cause lung cancer. It may (no proof as yet) influence the disease in a heavy smoker, but of and by itself, can't be consumed (due to its causing the user to fall asleep) in any threshold above what the body itself can clean (4 tobacco cigarettes a day's worth of tars) naturally.

I'm sure there are people that think they're addicted to the stuff, but it isn't physically addicting like booze or tobacco are. That would be a behavioral issue.
