People who think consumption won't increase are dreaming, however, that is not a reason not to legalize it. For example, when Prohibition on alcohol was around, people still found alcohol, they just found it illegally. Once legalized again, and ease of access increased (legally), obviously many people who didn't want to go through what you had to do to get it illegally (including but not limited to risk legal ramifications), then bought it and used it.There are plenty of people that would use pot if they could legally get it, that don't currently use it. I do agree that would be many more casual less hardcore users, but the numbers are still high. Prohibition doesn't work. |
