There is nothing wrong with having money in an overseas bank, and plenty of legitimate reasons to do so. It has nothing to do with patriotism.

As long as you report your accounts to the IRS and pay taxes on your income, there is no problem at all.

Now, some people would try and have people believe that simply having money outside the US is evidence of tax evasion or other criminal activity. But I know you're not that kind of guy, right?
