Think harder my friend. The truth they were hiding was "A US ambassador and three others are dead because we badly mishandled and mismanaged a situation." When they blame the YouTube video, they are claiming that "A US ambassador and three others are dead because some hate-mongering American right-winger posted a hateful video on YouTube". It's one thing (though still not right) for the Administration to lie and try to obscure their culpability for the deaths. It is another thing entirely to go and blame it on your political foes. There was no reason to blame the YouTube video other than to try to shift blame to their political opponents. |
