When JFK ran, there was serious fear that somehow America would come under control of the Pope. It was a MAJOR issue back then and somehow he managed to win despite it all. And if Nixon didn't scare people, he would have won on that basis alone.Kennedy was just a guy who went to church. He wasn't part of the church's hierarchy. He wasn't a BISHOP in the church. Amusing how the fact that Romney was a Bishop in HIS church and therefore part of the church itself has gotten swept under the rug this entire time. In the end though, Romney blew himself up. |
