The difference is that hypocritical theists complain that non-divine explanations for the origin of the universe are incomplete and therefore there must have been some deity to bring it all about, and completely ignore that the introduction of such a deity leads to the same exact problem and is therefore superfluous to the extent that it is used to explain the initial creation of the universe.I also get a kick out of how the ignorami refer to a singularity as something comparatively massive like a "mustard seed." Of course it sounds ridiculous when you mischaracterize it. Unfortunately, religiously-motivated origin myths are patently ridiculous even when explained accurately. So you believe that a mustard seed is ridiculous but the earth and plants preceding the existence of the Sun and stars is not? |
