Haven't been to Elmont in nearly 30 years now.....thanks to Google I can see how it looks now and I'l pass.Even Wal-Cliffe is condos now. Used to be a swimming pool and roller rink. Right by Clara Carlson on Washington Blvd, Is that TSS still there? Used to be Great Eastern, I remember when I was very young it was a WW2 memorial billboard and potato field behind it. That goes back to the early 60s. They apparently either tore down Alva T Stanforth and moved the library there or converted it. Surprised to see someone that even knows what Elmont IS, much less anything more about it. It's like an invisible village...of 30,000. |
