These were instamatic shots from 27 years ago, plus I was a young inexperienced "whippersnapper" at the time, so please forgive me! :-) |

What ever happened to that "MaxiBus" and "Minnybus" service in Westport? Was it integrated into CT Transit? (BTW that 30-footer is not what I consider a "MaxiBus").OTOH, where was the second picture taken? If that is the New Rochelle Macy's that is the FIRST department store that I ever went to. I didn't know that they had the "star" logo way back then. Too bad it closed in 1992 and the whole mall adjoining it was demolished. |

Both of the Westchester pics were taken in downtown White Plains. The Macy's was on Main Street, a few blocks east of The Galleria. The other shot was at Court St & Martine Avenue, i believe. I recall going to that pizza place many times before returning home on the 20 or 21 bus. Does anyone know if that pizza place is still there? |

I went to that one too (I think I got confused with the New Rochelle one because the White Plains one had "Macy's White Plains" in a different font on the "front" of the building). IIRC it was closed around 1997 and moved to the Galleria. I think it has been demolished now.As for the pizza place, I don't know as I haven't been to White Plains since 2001. |

Great pictures!The two Westport Flxibles were sold to Connecticut DOT in the early 1980's, and were operated by North East Transportation as #4026 and 4027. They saw service in the Waterbury, Meriden and Wallingford divisions until 1995. Bill

E.J. Conley Place-isn't that where Sears used to be? White Plains has changed so much over the years-the Macy's is gone actually and I believe there is a Target on top of there (I was reading an article and the same person who demolished the Macy's in White Plains demolished the Macy's in New Rochelle and made a White Plains verson of New Roc City). |
