Hey guys today I took the Bus Operator Selection Survey. It was an alright experience I now began the wait for "the call". He said the earliest they will hire off of the list for exam 5025(april 2006) would probably be February 2008. Anybody else here take it yet? Also does anyone know a CDL school that actually has a transit bus for me to practice on?

Yeah, I took it, my list number is 183. However, I doubt I'll accept after being called.

Congrats, and I hope you "told them what they want to hear", on that test. If you have a CDL permit with said endorsements, the MTA will train you for free. They prefer those like you since you do not have bad bus driving habits. I believe we have spoke about this before on Bustalk.

What are the "bad bus driving habits" exactly?

Turning with one hand, instead of the two hand push and pull. Driving with one hand on the wheel, and the other on the grab rail, or farebox.

Ok I understand the farebox being a bad habit. The grab kinda depends on what you're driving. Guys who drive the RTS tend to lean on it, but on the artics people use it to assist them.

In the arctics drivers use them the same way they do in the RTS, unless you have the door. At WF we have all doors cause we have the 5600 series newer arctics.
