March 10, 1957 - The Book of Service Changes
Manhattan, New York
Fifth Avenue Coach Lines, Inc. - NYCO Division
Surface Transit, Inc.
In the latest series of one-way conversions, Avenue of the Americas (Sixth Avenue) is converted to one-way northbound between 34th and 59th Streets, Broadway is made one-way southbound between Columbus Circle and Herald Square, and Seventh Avenue becomes one-way southbound between 59th Street and Times Square. This brings changes to the following routes:
- 5 - Sixth Avenue: Southbound buses are rerouted southbound on Seventh Avenue between 59th Street and Times Square, and then on Broadway to 34th Street
- 6 - Broadway and Seventh Avenue: Northbound buses rerouted northbound on Sixth Avenue between 34th and 59th Streets
- 7 - Broadway, Columbus and Lenox Avenues: Northbound buses rerouted northbound on Sixth Avenue between 34th and 53rd Streets, and westbound on 53rd Street to Eighth Avenue
- M-104 - Broadway: Northbound buses rerouted northbound on Eighth Avenue between 42nd Street and Columbus Circle
