That's pretty much the current list. There are a number of 22-hour routes as well.

The 159 is a bit of an anamoly since it operates 24/7 from Sunday morning to Saturday morning (both directions between Winston Towers and PABT, north of that point in the northbound direction only).

If you count a 3 hour gap between buses, then it's 24/7 except for a four hour period Sunday morning.

Correction: It operates 24 hour service from Sunday morning to Saturday morning.

Thanks! By 22 hour routes do you mean routes like the 400 and 409?

Thanks! The 159 is what inspired me to ask this. I visited a friend in Leonia on Friday night and thought that I would have to get a ride to Anderson/Central to catch the 159 back to the city since I remembered reading on here that it was one of the few NJ Transit routes that run 24/7 years ago, but after looking up my return trip on Google Maps just to double check, I found out that the much closer 166 runs 24/7 now. I remember the 128 having hourly overnight service years ago, and I’m guessing that the less frequent 166 received an extended service span to replace it?

As for the 159, I think that gap in service is a little too big for it to be truly 24/7, the 501 and 552 in South Jersey have similar gaps at one point IIRC, but there is always a bus either running or just about to run on either route unlike the 159.

Yeah - routes that generally break between 2 and 4 am.

I've taken the 139 at around 2-3 AM from somewhere down route 9 and was one of two people on the bus, but it actually showed up. One of the old Detroit engine units too (which if I'm not mistaken are retiring en masse right now and close to on their way out).

I like fanning the 559/139 combo every now and then from Atlantic City, and usually the 559 leg is busier, although I usually do this at night heading back to New York, and the bus still empties out by the time it hits Smithville or so.

Two routes that seem to be busy 24/7 though are the 62 and 119. Even going back to the Red & Tan days those late night 10/99S buses used to arrive at Journal Square pretty full.
