The artist rendering is severely inaccurate. I don't see the piles of feces anywhere in it with people stepping over it.

Is that prohibition 24/7? Don’t forget unlike NYC, S/F transit does not run overnight except for a few select bus lines.

I hope I'm wrong, But I'm afraid it's not going to work. The bus only State St. Mall in Chicago only lasted 17 years.

The photo of the new signs going up doesn't show any time-of-day exceptions.

I think you have to have a really special street to do this.

There really isn't any purpose to cars on a street that is heavy in pedestrians and stores if there are very nearby parallel streets. The cars are only there for show and to blow out your eardrums.

Yet, on the other hand, declaring a street car free does not make it come to life. I know of some emtpy busways that are good for the buses....if they actually did something with the lights, but the street is dead.

I think they've been doing this in Toronto on busy streets, really speed up the trams.

Buses are terribly slow in SF, mostly due to BS ride sharing traffic. Anything that can be done to improve that is a win.
