The other aspect would have to do with their being diesel buses, combined with Cuomo's agenda for MTA buses (notably his insistence of all-electric). I suspect the death knell for vintage bus rides in NYC during the holiday came when the last RTS run occurred in May. What, the MTA brass thinks vintage buses would add to global warming a.k.a. "climate change," never mind how occasionally they would have run? |

I think another strike against the vintage buses, insofar as the MTA is concerned, has to do with their being diesel, and Cuomo pushing for an all-electric bus fleet. |

I don't think that's the case at all,,diesel buses enter the Port Authority Bus Terminal on a daily basis and diesel trucks are all over the city. This is a once a year event,, it's most likely due to a shortage of qualified drivers who actually like to operate these antiques and budget/maintenance concerns.WE-44 |
