IAWTP!Doesn’t really apply here, but I really hate when it’s described as a miracle that no one dies in a natural disaster because of the efforts of humans to save lives. Example: The “miracle” on the Hudson. God sent birds to murder the people on that airplane and a human pilot (and arguably the design of the aircraft) said “not today.” |

Going back to US 1549 and Sully, that plane had awful luck, given that thousands of flights avoid flocks of geese and have uneventful flights, arriving safely at their destination. I tend to use “luck” as a contrast to “skill.” The so-called “Miracle on the Hudson” was an example of horrible luck and great skill. |

TBH, when I first saw the subject line of this thread, I thought that the truck in question was expressing its opinion of the overpass in a particularly vulgar manner. I didn't even know garbage trucks were capable of such behavior. |

Don't airbrakes have springs that will lock if there is brake failure, loss of air or pop the parking brake? What else can be called brake failure? The pedal breaking? there is still the parking brake |
