A huge apartment house is rising on the southeast corner of Sutphin and Archer. I wonder how old the buildings on the northeast and northwest corners are, and how long until they will be replaced. That van at the curb was transporting LIRR employees to Hillside shops, as Belmont trains had taken over the local track. NICE supplied buses to Hollis and Queens Village. |

There are some decent size buildings fairly close, like the court houses, Jamaica Hospital, the redeveloped MIH site, the Social Security building east of there, but none are anywhere near that tall. |
