Woodhaven Select BS Question

This morning I was on Woodhaven N/B and saw Q11/Q21 stops on the northbound main road. I thought they ran only on the service road? This was between 91st and Jamaica.

From what I remember north of the 89th Avenue/Woodhaven Blvd. Q11/Q21 local bus stop NYCDOT put in a merging slip lane for the local buses to move over from the service lane into the center bus lane where that bus stop is at 91st Avenue/Woodhaven Blvd.

I thought they use the overpass over Atlantic Avenue.

OK. Maybe there was an accident along the way ?

Up until the 1970's, the Q11 would deviate off Woodhaven Blvd to run along JHS210 heading southbound. I don't know if that's true anymore.

I rode the Q53 SBS last week and I did notice some shared stops on the main road.

I'm not sure what an accident would have to do with anything. Until the implementation of SBS, all bus service was via the service roads. Now they've shifted Q52 and Q53 service to the main roads, but the Q11 and Q21 still use the service roads in order to stop at Atlantic Avenue. I was not aware that the Q11 and Q21 use the main road partly and cross-over; I had thought it was all service road service. I know where the cross-over is southbound, but I don't know where it is northbound.

Northbound it is just south of 93 Ave (the last street before the overpass.)

Where is the return cross-over? I know that there isn’t one southbound as at 101st Avenue the SBS buses cross over to the service road.

There is one southbound but I forget exactly where. It may be between 101 and 103. I wanted to use it but didn't see it until I past it. There are no signs to let you know and there is no dashed line near the bus lane like they only want buses to use it.
