[PHOTO] More MSBA Memories: Kitbashing A Fishbowl
Posted by Bill Newkirk on Mon Oct 16 19:16:40 2017 EX-1000 poised at Rockville Center, December 1980. EX1000 began life as Schenck Transportation #428, a 1962 TDH-5302. A failed experiment for a smaller bus where a longer bus wasn't needed. A MSBA driver once told me when it rained or snowed, the bus was all over the road.

I believe the City By The Sea got them around 1978. Later, Long Beach also had a single, full-length RTS bus, as well.

It was featired in an MSBA annual report back then. They had to weight down the front end as it was poorly balanced. Rapid acceleration would lift the front end up. It differed from a Baby OEM Fishbowl, like Long Beach system had.
