Hehe, "bendy buses". At least they plan to fix them and get them back on the road today.

That said I'm glad we went with New Flyer for ours up here in Albany instead of Nova. They've been working great. Now if only we could get more than one per year (I think we're up to 3 out of an order of 20, with the first delivered in 2014).

Hows things up in Albany? When I was co-opping for Drexel, I worked for Ford on Green Island and lived in a motel in Watervliet, back in the 1960's. The Ford plant closed eons ago....

Thanks, Henry R32 #3730

Pretty good actually. When there isn't snow it's a pretty relaxing city. And the Hudson River waterfront is damn near unrecognizable from 15 years ago... well landscaped, you actually hardly notice 787, and there's plenty of people there (--very safe--). Van Schiack Island now has tons of riverfront housing were warehouses once were. The D&H bridge between it and Green Island is now a trail. The bus system is now 1st world (except on Sunday).

Thanks, Henry R32 #3730. The snow and sub-zero temperatures are what I remember for the winters, I worked up there 2 winters and 2 summers. I used to stop at a place on Green Island for breakfast and the snow never melted until late March, and I was parking in a no-parking zone(yellow curb line)! The summers were fun up there, my convertible top down, cruising around Troy.

Henry R32 # 3730. It was -20 F some mornings when I was in your area in those two winters. My car sat outside, no place to use an engine block heater. I never used the parking brake, it might freeze up on you. I just left the 3 speed stick in first gear, that kept it from rolling,
and I was on level ground anyway. Get in. push in the clutch and pump the throttle about 10 times. The car turned over like sick cow and finally caught, then shift to neutral, and slowly let the clutch out and the engine and tranny warmed up.After a few minutes, you could be on your way, but the rear axle grease was still stiff from sitting, so it was slow going for a few blocks up Broadway Ave. in Watervliet, NY.
