Buses tested..how did they do? |
|
Posted by caine515 on Tue Jul 26 09:21:43 2016 I remember the TA tested a MAN Americana bus,a Hino and Renault during 1982 when the Grummans were first here. If this has been answered im sorry. I'm curious what was the main reason they were not ordered. Was it the BUY NY ISSUE? If that's the case the Orion V that first arrived weren't even made in the U.S.(#93001-#93072).Just curious. |

Yes, the TA tested those and many more buses in the 1980s. Some others they tested include a MAN artic (which ended up with Bee Line), Neoplan AN-440 and AN-460, Orion I (one-door suburban), GMC RTS (one-door suburban).I don't know the reason(s) they didn't choose to buy any of those buses. |
