I think that shortlining the M5 at 31 St is a bit extreme considering that the service ran as far as 8 St and even Houston St seemingly without problems. Maybe South Ferry was a bit too long but either 8 St or Houston would probably be OK. |

They said 88% of current passengers wouldn't need to transfer under this proposal. To push it so the remaining 12% wouldn't need to transfer is more trouble than it's worth. |

They probably figured the M55 is enough, especially going up to 44th Street. There would be a direct connection from the heart of 5th Avenue to the lower Broadway corridor. |
