LACMTA buying 35 Gillig BRT CNGs? |

Posted by Pink Jazz on Sun Aug 30 10:59:55 2015 According to a recent edit on Wikipedia, LACMTA is buying 35 40-foot Gillig BRT CNG buses. Can anyone confirm? I know Wikipedia cannot be trusted for everything.If these rumors are true, I assumed the order may be a piggyback off another TA's options considering the rather small number of buses being ordered. |

However, since there are 68 Orion VIs in the fleet, this order will only replace slightly more than half of them if the order is real.Since according to CPTDB Wiki MV Transportation owns the Orion VIs, perhaps they are ordering the Gilligs rather than LACMTA. |

Looks like the information on CPTDB Wiki that MV Transportation owns the Orions was false; a user on CPTDB forums confirmed that LACMTA owns the Orions.Since LACMTA still has several unexercised XN40 options, most likely LACMTA will exercise these options to replace the Orions, which means the Gillig order is probably BS. |
