Cool, and a very nice photo on there too.

I just got back from SF; I think the service is already excellent. And I did ride around the suburban / residential areas in addition to the touristy areas.

I hope the buses and trackless run well. We are having Nova"teething problems" here in Philly.

I really like the picture -- it's my latest desktop photo now.

SF did trackless really well. That they do articulated trackless coaches probably says something about their faith in trackless. Of course I don't know what happens behind the scenes, but in the time I was there they seemed to be just as efficient as a bus, and of course lacked emissions.

The only drawback relative to buses it seemed was that bunching was a tad more likely with trackless coaches because of the inability to pass each other.

San Francisco needs trackless coaches because of the hills. They climb the hills effortlessly, it seems. Diesel buses and hybrid buses can't do this.
Yes, bunching is a problem, to pass, your leader has to pull his poles.

I rode the 6-Parnassus and got off before the end of the line, the coach coming back picked me up, nice guy, and said wait a minute my leader has to pass me, and he stopped to pull his poles. The coach that passed us was the one I rode, how he got out of sequence,I do not know.
