There was some plan recently to extend the Light Rail to somewhere useful, dunno if anything ever became of it.

Weekday service is good on major routes - every 15 minutes during the day. Outlying routes have less frequent service. Also, routes aren't coordinated very well in downtown Buffalo as there is no central terminal that all routes travel to. The $5 Day Pass can be bought from any driver or from TVM's and is a bargain.

People think the light rail is a joke because it is too short and mostly runs in a subway, but it does carry over 15,000 riders per day and serves as a connection between the south campus of UB and downtown. There is movement to finally consider expanding the system to the big UB north campus which would probably double ridership almost right away.

The coverage is alright within Buffalo city limits - every 15-20 minutes during the day, and the last buses leave downtown around 1am, but I haven't tried it out in the 'burbs.
One caveat - the NFTA no longer issues printed maps - I had to take a couple pics of one at a light rail station and use that as my guide.

Guess what? I just realized 7 day pass cost is an ripoff, $25? Seriously? They should lower it to $15 maybe, but $25? I'm blown away.

Otherwise, NFTA Metro is OK so far, I will share pics/videos when I can

It's not a ripoff if you have to take more than two trips a day. NFTA does not have free transfers anymore.
