I know that gmc did blitz buses for new york.does anyone know what depot had them and what was the first line to run them? Also, since green and triboro were short buses why didnt they get blitz buses? I know jg, fla and yukon got some.

1 - Don't know

2 - Perhaps the Cooper Group didn't have enough spares to send any buses to Blitz to be rebuilt ?

Hudson, Amsterdam, 100th, 147th (I think), Flatbush, Queens Village, Staten Island (not sure which depot).

When the Blitz GMCs came along in late '84... They were assigned to AMS, OHS, HUD, FLA, QV, and YUK. 146 St (OFS) didn't have them, and Manhattanville had yet to be built.

Of course they moved around to many other depots later.

Also, since green and triboro were short buses why didnt they get blitz buses?

Rebuilding costs money.

The rebuilding was for NYCT, not for the Cooper family.

The privates could have sent buses to Blitz as well. My point was that they couldn't afford rebuilding as well as NYCT.

Also considering (my understanding is) they were due for the upcoming NYCDOT RTS order in 1985. RIPTA correct me if I am wrong, (You're knowlege is greater than mine on these facts) out of TONY came bus purchases funded by, then purchased wholly by the NYCDOT. Along with full subsidization of services of the PBL's, because the PBL's in general coudn't afford to run service & purchase new equipment in the amounts needed.

My knowledge of the facts is next to zero, but that certainly makes a lot of sense.
