Posted by caine515 on Sat Aug 30 17:48:05 2014 I know that gmc did blitz buses for new york.does anyone know what depot had them and what was the first line to run them? Also, since green and triboro were short buses why didnt they get blitz buses? I know jg, fla and yukon got some. |

They were assigned to AMS, OHS, HUD, FLA, QV, and YUK. 146 St (OFS) didn't have them, and Manhattanville had yet to be built.Of course they moved around to many other depots later. |

Also considering (my understanding is) they were due for the upcoming NYCDOT RTS order in 1985. RIPTA correct me if I am wrong, (You're knowlege is greater than mine on these facts) out of TONY came bus purchases funded by, then purchased wholly by the NYCDOT. Along with full subsidization of services of the PBL's, because the PBL's in general coudn't afford to run service & purchase new equipment in the amounts needed. |
