Its a defect with the older new flyer buses I have heard the ones in phx la and new york do it I think its there alternator belt or the pully that messes up |

Actually the alternator belt has a self tensioner, same as all DD Series 50 engines have. The problem is the A/C and hydraulic pump belts. New or old belt, tight or slightly loose doesn't really change much. Give it a very short amount of time and they will make noise. |
