IMO, it seems that Nova is on top of it and doing what they should. It appears that they identified the problem while self auditing or quality control. Not an LFS fan, but they seem to do serious quality control & technological development, IMO. |

The recall is also affecting newer buses.Chicago's CTA is also having issues with their new Nova Bus 40 foot order as well... problems include: Defaulted Electronical System, Failed Brake Sysyems , Non-Operatable Wheelchair Step, Defective Drag Link, etc. They are delaying their old LFS buses retirement til end of NEXT year. |

No Nova deliveries to Septa for the past 2 weeks, something is wrong.Maybe they are fixing everything first , delaying shipments, which makes sense, IMHO. Thanks for the information, everybody. Thanks, Gold_12th |

Well IMHO that settles it, you're man in the know. After seeing NovaBus's youtube videos, I thought that there might be hope in the current "so called" heavy bus industries. I should've used my instinct and saw it was just propaganda. LIES I TELL YOU, ALL LIES! LOL :) It's outstanding to hear from you. |

Thank you for the ringing endorsement. They truly are pieces of junk. Just the other day there were three (3) NOVA bus vans and one (1) CUMMINS van on the depot work floor. The vendors almost outnumbered the on the clock mechanics. It's a damn shame. And the NOVA artics AREN'T articulated! The turn table isn't a complete circle like the New Flyer, so you're basically driving a 37' U-Haul truck and a trailer!STILL LOL@MTA MIS-MANAGEMENT |

That's the first issue in a 62ft bus, along with the front overhang & looking behind the operator position to see the front doorway. Just to name a few. |

Do you have a list of common defects in the Nova artics?Wheelchair lifts ALL had to be modified/replaced stalling transmission jerks door closing/opening speed too slow intermittant wiper problems wipers not cleaning windshield brakes locking up random check engine lights Diesel particulate filter issues and dashboard lights artic backup safety switches not working (bus gets jacked in reverse, no way to go the extra few degrees of angle necessary to move bus) antifreeze leaking into cylinders, locking up engines!!! and these aren't on the first releases. almost the LAST batch received! That's the first issue in a 62ft bus, along with the front overhang & looking behind the operator position to see the front doorway. Just to name a few.Don't forget the massive blind spot to the left of the operator. The large black frame member that holds the nose on.... No way to clean left side mirror and no way to get away from window glare because operators window between op and mirror doesn't open (looking thru that tear drop shaped window...) Gillig BRT models have a wiper for that window. MTA would never consider that. That glare must double with glare from the partition also. I would think? |

And they still ordering them despite the defects? Typical TAs. I wish MTS(Millennium Transit Services) got their shit together and was around. Gillig is another heavy duty bus maker manufacturer left. I don't count Eldorado. Not even gonna last on the streets of NYC. |

I know that NOVABUS has a order for New York City. Im guessing this delays the order here too. Since Flyer is the only player on the list as well..would New York go for ElDorados? |

I've heard a couple of reasons why Septa went with Nova for their new buses. What I'm showing here is what I was told.1. New Flyer was too booked up to even bid on this order. or, 2. Nova underbid the competitors. Septa will be stuck with these Nova buses, hope they work out the kinks. |

This might just be your typical teething issues. For all we know the XD60s could just as problematic.I remember seeing posts from 10 years ago on RD of 98 Novas having bulkhead issues, 10 years later the buses are about 16 years old and they seem to be in decent shape for there age. You would think they would be soda cans by now |
