S74 bus accident: B/O struck fence after swerving to avoid hitting dog, MTA says
Posted by Gold_12th on Tue Apr 22 00:18:43 2014 edf40wrjww2msgDetailB:detailStr fiogf49gjkf0d Orion VII hybrid 4445 The driver of an MTA local bus claims that he swerved to avoid running over a dog and as a result struck a utility pole and crashed into a fence on Monday morning near the former Brookfield Landfill on Arthur Kill Road at Cortelyou Avenue in Eltingville. The accident on the S74 carrying two passengers happened at 3:40 a.m. and no one on board -- including the driver -- claimed any injuries. The accident remains under investigation. Obviously, the dog appeared far enough in front of the bus to allow the driver to react.
