I estimate about 80 or more of the RTS are still in service. 4726 maybe the oldest bus in the fleet (it's a 1988). The 2012 Gilligs are in large numbers from what I saw earlier this month. The bus fleet is likely higher then 300, since they got 50+ new Gilligs last year, but the fleet remained the same, so they likely expanded the fleet last year. I heard they were going to order artics from Nova, but I have not heard anything else. |

The first trips are about 7am or so from the respective hotel areas. I was there in May of 2005. I stayed at New Orleans. The first bus was 7am to magic kingdom. The last bus is whatever time the show ends at magic kingdom back to the hotel(normally 11pm)-they make sure nobody is left behind at the places. |

The only thing I know of about artics is that Lynx will be getting Nova artics very shortly. If Disney plans on buying some for it's fleet it will be an interesting year. |

The 4 heads all the way to Kissimmee, while the 50 heads to the ticket center near Magic Kingdom at Disney.I did see a D60 (136-698) on the 301, which I saw at Downtown Disney. The route terminates in Pine Hills. The Link 300-305 routes operate during the morning and afternoon rush to Downtown Disney, so they do have articulated buses used on those routes along with Gillig BRTs and Phantoms. |

They use a specialized dispatch system to monitor demand and move buses to where they are needed. Drivers don't have scheduled runs, but instead go where they are directed to. |

The original (not slopes, although the original Tri-County Transit, now Lynx, had three!!)GMC's were not comfortable at all. When I worked for Rockland Coaches, now CoachUSA, they had a bunch that were owned by Rockland County NY. I'm 6'2" |

The ones they had new was 501-503. The ones they bought came from Fayetteville, NC. So far 516-518 were the only other RTS on Lynx's fleet. Here are pictures of 516 and 518. There was only 10 of them and they were retired in 1997-1998 with the arrival of the Gillig Phantoms. They were retired along with the Neoplan artics, the 40 foot Neoplans, and the 35 foot Neoplans bought in 1985. Also retired was the RTS buses bought from Fayetteville, NC. |
