Nice pics. That AC Transit Gillig is most likely the new buses AC Transit purchased.

Yep it is. 1301 arrived a few months ago and its the only one AC Transit has at the moment. The rest (64 of them) will be delivered next year and the rest of the High Floor NABIs will be retired after 15 years in service. I will miss the NABIs but am glad that AC has FINALLY came back to their senses and brought from Gillig again. The vanhool romance is finally over and NO MORE will be brought EVER. Also AC has ordered 23 New Flyer XD60 artics to replace the remaining 6 NFI D60HF that are 16 years old. I can't wait to see these buses in service.

Had a feeling it was. It's kind of interesting to note that AC Transit ordering buses from New Flyer and Gillig is strangely similar to what they did throughout the 1980s. It's kind of poetic justice that this would happen once again. Good to see familiar faces going back to AC Transit once again in the form of the top bus builders in the country.

I'm kind of shocked that they went with the "old style" Gilligs as opposed to the Gilligs BRT especially in light of their recent romance with Van Hool.

In fairness the Advantages and BRTs are basically the same buses. The BRT is just a style package. With that said it is surprising they did go with the Advantage.

Very nice photos. I'm glad to see that AC Transit is not only done with its Van Hool infatuation, but is even showing more common sense by buying the basic Gillig Low Floor with the standard front and framed windows. AC has had its share of financial issue and doesn't need to waste any more money on unnecessary frills like BRT fronts.

Thanks for the Presido "thing". It came and went at the Bridge Visitors Center before I even knew what happened!

Thanks for posting the pics! It is nice to see the ex AC Transit Gillig Phantoms to have 2nd service life in Muni. It would be great if a photo can be taken with both old 28XX and new 13XX in SF.
