Surprised at 82 & Astoria Blvd. That's a transfer point for several other lines.

IF there's a stop at 82 St. and 23 Ave., that would solve the problem. Is there?

There IS a stop at 82nd St at 23rd Avenue, right at the corner. My thing is, I think THAT was the stop to remove, NOT the one at 82nd at Astoria Blvd. I'm guessing they assume that the M60 buses and a sole Q47 wont all be able to stop at the same stop, so they won't stop until after they make the right on 23rd Avenue...?

Was this an official MTA announcement, and if so what is "INTERN ROADWAY"? Do you mean INNER ROADWAY ;)

I think you meant this to be a reply to this post... but it looks official to me, getting everything ready for the M60 conversion to 100% artics...

If a bus is sitting directly in the stop at 82/Astoria, there's no room behind it to pull up without blocking the box . Another bus approaching the stop would have to either 1) pull up in front or 2) wait in the turn lane for the 1st bus to leave and then proceed which I saw occur the other day with 2 M60 Artics.

They could have extended the bus stop further up the block but theres already one at next corner (23 Avenue) and the Q48 has a much lower frequency than the Q47 so theres less concern of the bus stop being blocked.

Nice of the MTA to try and speed up the trip a little, but in the end I don't think it makes that much of a difference. As long as the M60 runs local on 125th and has to serve Astoria Blvd, service to upper Manhattan will be sub-par. The MTA should just make an express version of the M60 (I don't advocate getting rid of the current M60, keep in mind) and just be done with it. Preferrably, a route that only stops at the train stations on 125th St, and hops on the Grand Central Parkway after the (N) and (Q) and takes it straight to the airport.

When I was an operator on the line we use to this when we caught up with each other in the airport to break up a convoy. The latest bus would dump the load on the bus closest to time and then take the GCP to 31 St or 125 St and 2 av.

This was when we had 30 minute headways in the mid 90's.

MTA should have said "Long Term Parking Lot #3" which will be bypass along with American Airline Hanger cargo stop, where few airplane employees gets on the bus.

It's part of the LGA access study and Stage 2 proposal for SBS routs. With public demand wanting 125 ST SBS don't be surprise if DOT/MTA push it up for study and community input stages.
