Libery Lines (Express) had quite a mixed fleet. I recall their 1200 series GMCs being 5304A and (mostly) the older 5302.I wish I could remember the exact numbers, but I do remember a most of their new look era buses. The lowest numbers I remember is 1001 & 1002 which were odd-ball 35-footer 4502s. The 1100 series were a mixed bag of P8M-4905A/ H6H-649 buffalo. I think there were just a few 1400 series which I recall being a few 6-cylinder 5302s. The 1500 series were 5303A and 5304As. I don't remember a 1600 series. 1701-1705 (or 1706) were also odd-balls. These were 6-cylinder one-door transits 5306A. The 2000 series were MCI MC-8 and MC-9s. The numbers sort of jumped around as the 2200s were a few more 5304A, 2300 series were 5302s, 2500 were more 6-cylinder 5302s and 3900 were 5301s. Hopefully, someone will post a roster. |

While NYBS was revered and admired as being a top notch outfit, it was too pristine for me. A bit boring, actually. LL Express was more exciting. Variety in equipment and even paint schemes. (change in color stripes).jrc |

Most of the GMC New-Look Buses that ran for Liberty Lines Exptess, came from Pelham Parkway Express and Riverdale Transit, However someGMC's came from Rockland Coaches. The 35 foot buses came from Newburg-Beacon. The GMC Parlor Coaches are Ex-Pelham Parkway Exptrss. MWAP |

NYBS' fleet was sort of sterile as everything was so perfect and uniform. Liberty Lines definitely had some variety. I still remember being shocked the first time I spotted on of their MC-9s |

That may be, Joe, but at least NYBS took care of their buses, instead of running them into the ground, like Triboro Coach, & GBL did with their fleets! I'd hate to have seen the GM buses at NYBS loooking beat up! |

I agree with that, Jose, but LL hardly beat their stuff to death. Compared to NYBS everything looks beat to death. But LL really did maintain their stuff. And their classics were top notch to the end.jrc |

The Liberty Lines buses generally appeared to be well-maintained. A few of those 5302 GMCs I rode always seemed to be in good condition. It appeared that NYBS was simply at the top of that game. |
