AC Transit had ordered (65) 40' Gillig Advantage LF buses to replace the 3000/3100s High Floor NABIs that are in the process of being retired and also has ordered (23) 60' New Flyer artics buses to replace the remaining (6) 1997 New Flyer D60HFs. AC Transit has finally got far away from Vanhool and will only buy American now.

That's good to hear. There are about 130 1998 NABI High floors left? From what you post, It looks like the soon to be 65 Gillig low floors will replace half of them NABIs, unless AC Transit is downsizing its bus fleet due to budget constraints.

I know right. You are probably correct, give or take a few dozen or so buses that are left in service. They are retiring buses almost every month. The Gilligs will replace just about half the NABI HFs that are left and they are preparing another order later for more 40ft buses in the next year or so, but will first order the artics for replacement of the 1996 New Flyers and BRT service they are still planning to put into place by 2015 or so. They have retired a lot of the NABIs and New Flyers because of budget constraints and not only because of their age. The vanhools are finally the majority of AC's fleet with a total of 324 buses or so.

Hello, I was recently in the Bay Area, I seen AC Transit's new 1300 series Gillig Advantage on various routes, one of the 2200 series New Flyer articulated buses on route 40, and there are still 1998 3100 series high floor NABI buses still in service on various routes.
