Got a chance to ride and shoot some NOVA artics on the Q44. First impressions always lasting. First time on an artic crossing the bridge to Queens. No traffic at all!!! A miracle in itself. And that bus (5912) moved!!! Climbed the incline to the bridge very well and sailed over to Queens. Shot 5899 on its return from the Bronx.

You must have had a better driver on 5912 - I was on it and 6869 zoomed past it on the Whitestone Bridge. (I eventually shot it near the Bronx Zoo.)

I also saw 5902 out.

I actually took the time to ride inside 5912 from the Bronx to Queens today with the same B/O and the same run number shown in your first pic. It was my first time riding an LFS Artic and I wanted to get the experience of riding one on the Q44. It's too bad that it had to terminate at Flushing, but it was worth the ride. I also saw 5899 just before it crossed the Whitestone Bridge to head to the Bronx.

So nice to see something other than an Orion on the Q44!

Nice pics, Joe! I gotta get a ride on one of those! I can only wonder how that looks on layover at Jamaica/165th!

I would've recognized you (from that TV interview about the TD925 4 years ago) after boarding 5912, but I didn't. Do you remember where you were sitting on that bus? I was sitting in the second last row of the rear section, B/O's side.

I was dead center over the engine. The "hot seat" (lol)
Really, you remember me from that interview? Wow. Now I feel good.
You've made me happy, Cappy :)

I'll tell you, I was amazed because that bus hits some pretty sharp curves after leaving the Farms. Interesting, and fun.

Funny, some images just last 4-ever. I always conjure up images of dark green Flx new looks when I think of the Q44, just like the 14th St subway will always be BMT standards (to me).
The artics are neat and make for some pleasant bus fanning.

The Q44 layover is at 165 and Jamaica? I thought it was Merrick between Jamaica and Archer?
