9WSYR.com - Quick thinking drivers stop bus from crashing into Parkway bridge

The new warning system is up and still we get this incident - I'm not sure what can be done to get the attention of these bus and truck drivers. I certainly hope Greyhound pulls this guy off the road for some retraining if he was rolling along past those warnings without realizing they were meant for him.

Oh boy....I wonder who it was. I'm gonna guess moderate fatigue on this one since it was 6am. Just not entirely there. Still, could've hurt people.

Permanent vacation if the pee test was bad since he drove past all the warnings and still had no clue. No way he could be that bad. Don't belong driving anything if he is that dangerous.

At least the good citizens stop the driver in time before he crashed. You know... in this day and age people wouldn't care to help, especially slowing a bus down with your own car to prevent possible fatalities. God's looking out for those people.

Yes, good people in the right place to save an idiot's ass. My problem is flashing lights and signs meant nothing to the driver so why pay any attention.

Wow - kudos to the motorists! Is this the bridge that was hit by the Megabus not too long ago?

Also, the over-height detection system seems like a good investment.

That's awesome that the motorists stopped the bus before an accident could occur.

Can't they lower the roadway 3 ft or so ? Just in that area maybe 200 ft each side of the bridge.

Even if they can, it could cost a lot of money. Apparently so much that they went with the warning system first.

No, the roadway is located next to Onondaga Lake and already floods multiple times each year.
