Twelve people were hurt when an MTA bus crashed into two other vehicles in Midwood, Brooklyn on Monday morning, officials said.Nine of the people injured were in serious condition and the rest suffered minor injuries, according to the FDNY. ---NBC4 A city bus collided with a truck in the Midwood section of Brooklyn Monday morning. The force of the impact flipped the truck in the street and sent the bus onto the sidewalk and into the side of a building at Ocean Avenue and Avenue J. The B11 bus was headed down Ocean Avenue when the truck apparently ran a red light on Avenue J. At least 12 people were hurt. Amazingly, none of the injuries was believed to be serious. There was no apparent structural damage to the building. --- ABC7 |

The smashup occurred at Ocean Ave. and Avenue J in Midwood at 9:55 a.m., police said. Witnesses told police a small truck registered to the Jewish Association Servicing the Aging ran a red light while heading south on Ocean and hit a Toyota Corolla traveling west on Avenue J. The truck flipped on its side. The bus, which was eastbound on Avenue J, swerved to avoid the collision and rammed into an apartment building. No pedestrians were struck. According to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the truck was driving north when it hit a B11 bus shortly after 10 a.m. at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Avenue J in Midwood. The bus went up onto the sidewalk and hit some planters, narrowly avoiding the corner of a six-story brick building. The bus driver was among those hurt, but the MTA described the injuries as non-life-threatening. "It looked like the drivers in the truck had a concussion or dazed, one of them had broken a wrist I think. I wasn't able to see the bus driver in the bus but he looked a little shooken up, everybody was shooken up," said one witness. Fire officials say those injured were taken to a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing. |

If MTA fixed it, it could used less than a few years. It is too cost to fix it. And also, premium cannot cover cost of the fixing 937. |
