Brooklyn Bridge Closed After Floating Crane Hits Span's Sheeting

The Brooklyn Bridge is closed after a crane hit some protective sheeting on the bridge's underside.

The accident happened shortly after 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The crane was being towed by a tugboat.

About 20 feet of the bridge's scaffolding were damaged.

Fire officials say no one was hurt.

Just the thing a 129 year old, structurally deficient bridge needs. Fortunately, the crane hit the scaffolding, not the actual bridge. It is still safe to cross.

What I can't believe is that the tug operator just kept going. Yeah, like nobody saw you just smash into the Brooklyn Bridge...okay
