The real problem with the B61 is that it is such a roundabout route. The MTA really should consider extending the B57 to IKEA to relieve that route. |

How much more extensions does the B57 need?Maybe the MTA should bring the B75 back and have it operate between IKEA and Park Slope |

Run it via Union Street to Flatbush Avenue to Prospect Park Station. |

[Lander also wants the agency to provide a satellite-guided tracking system so straphangers know when their ride will actually arrive, much like the system that B63 users currently enjoy.] In other words, he wants BusTime. When it goes live in Brooklyn, he'll get it. |

Yeah that works. Have the B61 terminate at 10th Street/5th Avenue (the old B77 terminal) and send the B57 back to Downtown Brooklyn. The B75 returns to its original routing between Downtown Brooklyn and Park Slope - 20th Street along Court Street (southbound) or Smith Street (northbound). |

When they were considering the doomsday cuts (and even after the B 61 was split into two), I thaught MTA was going to combine the B 61.77 route to save money. The combination with the B 75 has become a nightmare and the only reason for the B 57 was public outcry and Culver project. The B 75 cut was a bad mistake. Cutting the headways (similar to what it was in its final months and ending service earlier (late nights have the B 61 serve its current routing but other times terminate at 4 Av - 9 St staton), would have been a great solution and also could have been extended to Kensington to resolve the 15 St/ Ft. Hamilton station issues. However if you are going to keep the B 75, then the sacrifice would be the elimination of the B 67. The B 69 would cover 7 Av and headways would be slightly adjusted, in addition service after 9pm - 1am and weekends would terminate at Grand Army Plaza, and no late night service. The B 69/ B 75 replaces the B 67 along McDonald Av. |

"The additional service comes after an exhaustive report put together by Councilman Brad Lander (D–Park Slope) found that fewer than half of the buses on the route — WHICH RUNS FROM RED HOOK TO DOWNTOWN VIA PARK SLOPE— arrived on time during “peak hours” and the rest showed up at least three minutes early or late."I'd be an angry Red Hooker too, if the only bus serving the neighborhood ran downtown via Park Slope. The problem is, they've got it totally backwards. The B61 runs from Park Slope to Downtown via Red Hook! |

Well you could get rid of B75 late night service. The B61 would just be extended to Park Slope at night to cover the route that it runs right now. Riders wouldn't have to deal with traveling from Park Slope to Downtown Brooklyn via Red Hook during the day, they'd just travel on Smith Street. |

I agree with sending the B57 back to Downtown, Brooklyn no longer serving Court Street/Smith Street because not many people travel between Caroll Gardens and Maspeth ,Queens. The B75 roting you mention can be attained by than extending the B62 route from Downtown, Brooklyn to Park Slope via Court Street/Smith Street and other former B75 routing. I also like to than see the B57 east from 61st Street/Flushing Avenue/Grand Avenue to 63rd Drive - Rego Park. |

It was not meant to be posted. But B 69 does serve 7 Av, however, if a B 67 elimination was made I would extend the B 69 to terminate at the current B 62 terminal. |
