Pic 1-ok fine. I do miss those GMCs. Yadda Yadda Yadda.Pic 2-too much of the cars. Pic 3-too many obstacles in the way...at the same time I can see what you're trying to do...ok fine. Pic 4-if you stepped a little to your left, it "probably" would've been a better picture. But it gets the point across-ok fine. Pic 5-I'll admit this one is a good one. Pics 6 and 7-ok fine. Sometimes your pictures have way too many obstacles and people in the way. It's like you focus more on those 2 things than the subjects at hand. |

That's the difference between a busfan roster shot shooter like you and a transitfan historian like me. You only shoot close ups of buses with no background scenes visible. In 20 years those shots will only be appreciated by a small number of busfans, if any, whereas my shots, since they show everything going on around the bus (the people, the cars, the buildings, etc.) will be appreciated by almost everyone (busfans, historians, youngsters, normal people, hipsters, artists, convicts, etc.). Think about which old photos are the most interesting to look at? They are almost NEVER close ups of a bus or rail car. They are zoomed OUT shots showing everything going on around the transit subject. You can't have 100 year old "guess the location" photos if there's nothing in the photo to use to try to figure out the location! |

I photograph the surrounding around THE SUBJECT OF THE PHOTO which is the transit vehicle or infrastructure. Why do we want to see pictures of various people waiting for a train? A bus? Um, because it's a photo of daily life in NYC. Those are the photos that are treasured, not the roster shots you take where the bus takes up the entire frame. Almost no one gives (or will give) a rat's ass about those shots. You really think your a real big shit on here because you post bus photos, don't you? I think your last 2 photos look like roster pictures. I don't think it - I know it and I live it. Try to measure up, dude. That's because they ARE roster shots!!! They are stupid random charter buses! The whole point of those shots was to get close up photos of two random charter buses. Who cares about them? They were on a dead street with nothing going. There was nothing interesting to even include with them. |
