I wish the TA would look at that bus really closely and look at the batwing bus in the museum fleet and do a 'what's wrong with this picture?'A really great picture, with the side sign, the block letter black-and-white front sign and the "OA" sign on the advertising board. < |

What's more incredible about the beloved fishbowls was the fact that maintance was virtually non-existant at that time. And in the hot weather to find working a/c was a crap shoot. They took a lickin' and kept on tickin'! |

Suprised all you guyz forgot about the NEW TWO WAY RADIO SYSTEM installed on all buses around 1969 (see the grey antenna on the roof just behind the des sign)Some buses carried the larger green box type radio pod. (depending on garage) Also interior/exterior operator controlled P.A. speaker installed on this bus. Exact Fare= 20 cents-Johnson Farebox Looks like a CHEVY 'bel-air' rollong up behind. WE-44 |

The box type was actually a protective cover for a flat hoop type of antenna which was introduced about 1970. This type replaced the verticle whip antenna which were prone to damage. |
