AC Transit still has 6 Flexibles in service (150-155), they were originally only used on Dumbarton Bridge routes: DB, DB1, DB3. The are now used all routes served by the Hayward Division (D6). They were built in 1992 and are outlasting buses built years later (i.e. 1997 NABIs were retired in 2008). I never did like, I wished ACT retired those buses years ago.

I don't know if VTA in San Jose, Ca, still has their Flexes still in service or not.

NJ Transit is still running Metros, but that will change over the next year as the new NABIs come in...

I believe Portland Metro in Maine still has some running...

Dunno who else...

Yes, COTA still has a handful of their 1995s... my sister tells me she either gets a Flx or a 2010 Gillig on her daily commute to downtown Columbus.

Anyone who needs to ride and/or get photos of WMATA Flxible Metros need to get on it soon. There's just over 100 of them left. At this time it's still relatively easy to find them (Most of Es, but there's also few Bs and Ds left). The NF LFA order is completed, but they're getting an additional 48 of them this year which of course will push out more of the remaining Flxibles.

Cape Ann's Flxibles run mainly for school trippers on weekdays, occasionally they may appear ouside of AM/PM peak, they don't usually run them on Saturdays. Cape Ann has no Sunday service except for a Rockport park & ride shuttle that runs on weekends (weekdays July-Labor day) from May to October that uses Chance trolleys, and routes in Ipswich that run 7 days a week from Memorial Day-Labor Day that connect with MBTA commuter rail trains that use RTS. Don't know how much longer the Flxs will be in service, as they are now 15 years old.

Cape Ann has some 1998,1999 and 2000 Nova RTS (mix of 30 & 35 footers) the 1995 Flxs, a few cutaways and at least one Thomas SLF 30 foot. I have no idea what the replacements for the Flxs will be when they decide to retire them, but most other TA's in MA (except for the MBTA) have been invaded by Gillig low floors.

The "D"s are still in service at Newton Ave, Hamilton, Ironbound, and Big Tree (there may be a few at Greenville, but don't quote me on it).

I thought that there might be a couple Flxs still in service in Baltimore, but the New Flyer hybrids could very well have pushed them out.

To the SoCal posters: Doesn't the North County Transit District (the Breeze) in the San Diego area still have a few Flxs in service?

The Metro-Bs are at Landover, Montgomery and Southestern Annex divisions. That's a lots of routes, but if hang out at one of the hot spots (like Silver Spring, New Carrollton) during rush hour, your chances of finding one are good.

Man if I had the money and the license to drive buses, I would buy this bus. I loved riding them when AC Transit had it. The 2900's were one of my favorite buses in the history of their fleet. The last few 2900's were retired last year by AC Transit and sold off to ABC Companies that took the others. My favorite 2900 was bus 2966 that I always had on the 92 line when I went to CSU Eastbay. Those DD50s are my favorite engine, I wished they still made them, but they stopped making them in 2005. Those buses still have a lot of life left in them.
