It just makes perfect business sense - they can practically wrap up the entire Southwestern portion of Middlesex County with this move.

Hmmm....interesting and not surprising.

Now something I was told by a source yesterday, is that Academy is looking to pick up the 68, 134, and 138 if New Jersey Transit does indeed drop them. I can definitely see this happen, with some runs going to Suburban, because IMHO, I don't think Suburban can pick all the slack from those routes.

Again, this is nothing official, just sharing the word.

To me, the 134 makes sense at Academy, because it could be combined with some Route 9 service that currently runs express until Manalapan.

With the routing of the 134, it would make more sense (to keep the quality of service for the Route 9 folks) to have it run separately - a la runs out of Perth Amboy dedicated to the service...as for the 68 though, it would be interesting to see this service come off of Route 9 and interlined through NJ 18 to leverage things.

I'm not surprised considering who we are talking about here - interesting to note though that the residents of East Brunswick have wanted Academy to come in for years (most people really do not like the quality of service found at Suburban)...

Is the grass really greener on the other side of the street? People who have been on both sides tend to think it is. Academy is MUCH more expensive than Coach in almost every sector. EB focuses on keeping the price down.

,i>In the event these routes are discontinued, we want the displaced commuters to know, Suburban already possesses the necessary Operating Authority to provide service on the effected lines.

Is it too much to expect Coach USA to be able to spell the word "affected" correctly?

Associated Press can't even bother to check the spelling in their news releases (their disclaimer even acknowledges they may misspell words). So why should any other company bother learning how to spell?
