Dest. sign codes |
|
|
Posted by hound on Tue Mar 9 02:42:34 2010 Could someone please post an updated list of NYCT dest. sign codes? I tried to enter some codes that I copied from a list online from Hopetunnel.org dated 8/1/06 on one of the MCIs at LIB but most of them didnt work(showed exceeded range). It showed 9100 for LIRR Service, but wouldnt work. 6 & 12 work for NIS,13 for "training bus",11 for "next bus please",etc. |

Buses 1860 1885-1887 and 1889-1890 came from MTA Bus. 1888 1922 and 1927 were at NYCT. Try punching in code 24 for LIRR Service. That's the MTA Bus code for LIRR Service. Here are a list of a few other MTA Bus codes: 6-Not In Service 10-See Sign Below 11-Next Bus Please 13-Training Bus 22-MTA Bus 23-Subway Shuttle 24-LIRR Service 25-MNRR Service The codes you mentioned are for NYCT MCIs. Hope this helps. |

Which is ridiculous, every sign code should work on every bus in the MTA bus system! We want a uniform system! |

I guess that's why some of the other interesting codes I tried did'nt work(9198-Storm Route,9201-Coastal storm emerg. rt.,9202-Hurricane shelter,9203-Evacuation center,9500-Police bus,etc.) |

I tried it today on 1922 & code 9100 worked for LIRR Service. I dry-ran that bus on the Hicksville to Port Jeff. rr route round-trip for clearance & turn issues. I did'nt find it much different than with a 40' transit, except the stations are a lot tighter on weekdays filled with cars, rather than on weekends, where maneuvering is much easier. |
