A. area transit, and neither of them mentioned this, AFAIK (and there are a few MTA employees that post there, I'll need to get on them about this) :) This is surprising, as I thought MTA was done w/ smaller buses after the 1982 35-foot RTS were (finally!) retired 2 years ago. I wonder if these will be operated in house or by contractors. |

I've heard that these buses are to replace the Blue Birds, Thomas's, and ElDorados running on contracted routes. They also may replace some of the Orion VIs (although I'd think that 40' buses would be necessary on some of those routes). |

WHICH isnt even enough to replace all the contract buses -28 El Dorado MSTs -15 El Dorado EZ Riders -6 Blue Birds CSRE3904 -20 Thomas TL960s Total buses = 69 Southland Transit will be getting MTA Line 177, which already run the El Dorado MSTs. Recently, Metro already gave Southland more NABI 40LFW hand-me-downs... for use on line 177 |
