I was the dude trying to record in the middle of the bus as the foamers in the back went "WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! every time the engine revved up.

LMAO! That happens on the R1/9s trips too every time the T/O releases the brakes or the compressor goes off lol. I wonder if this happends on the hybrids and SMEE/NTT cars.

I really can't believe those Old Looks are actually going to be running in actual service! I always wanted to try a ride on one!

NYC MTA can be so cool...I only wish I could ride an 8v71 powered Flxible one day(c'mon, SEPTA!).

And you speak from expierence driving differnt buses ?

These are museum pieces that the TA is preserving.
You someone in the drivers seat that is going to treat her with respect and drive with pride, because if everytime they come back they have damage to repair, they won't go out anymore.

At the two trolley museums I operate at that's the philosophy. Plus you don't get anywhere near the controls unless you are already qualified on THAT type of car !

Similar, but how many drivers from the last 20 years or so would be able to drive a bus with a manual transmission, or without power steering?

the vintage buses will be on the road monday starting at 7:30 am for two round trips and at 2:30 pm for two round trips on 42st crosstown

the starting point should be 12 ave just to make sure be on the east side of 12 ave also there will be 2 buses out there if the weather is good

They should start the museum buses on each end if they are running two of them-- not both at 12th ave--this way there staggered. Are they running this Friday?

Yes, I was told about the other two being out today, I just happened to spot 3100 as I was headed over to the UN...and I was thinking I wasn't going to be able to see them today, then 3100 showed up.
