Information from the MTA Board's Capital Oversight Committee Board Book:

* The order for 850 Orion VII NG hybrids (745 to the TA, 105 to MTA Bus) is behind by approximately 21 buses, with the balance of the contract expected to be fulfilled by March 2010. As a result of the delays, Orion has been assessed $1.57 million in liquidated damages, according to a presentation dated November 2009 (a written summary, however dated "Status as of October 2009" indicates the order is 60 buses behind, with $1.3 million in damages assessed). According to Trevor's MTA roster at TransiTalk, 664 buses are in service - 584 for the TA, 80 for MTA Bus.
* All 90 Nova LFS artics are scheduled to be on TA property by mid-2010. They will be dedicated to the Bx12 and M15 Select Bus Services (the latter to start Fall 2010).
* The CNG order - 90 buses to TA (West Farms and Jackie Gleason) and 45 to MTA Bus (College Point and Spring Creek) is expected to be awarded either in December or January.
* On the Designline order front, once the initial eight pilot buses complete qualification testing, a Notice to Proceed will be issued for 22 Evaluation buses that will be used for in-service evaluation. Once the Evaluation bus stage is completed, a Notice to Proceed will be issued for the balance of the 90 bus order, which is expected to happen at the end of 2010.
* The next order of "express" buses will be placed by the 3rd quarter of 2010.

A few interesting comments on the "Charleston Annex" project:

* The depot was expected to have opened on December 30, however the slow pace of construction by the contractor completing the structural shell of the building is pushing the tentative opening date to May 2010. The TA responded that the contractor is working double shifts and on Saturdays in order to complete the work.
* Issues over the estimates for the retention basin could force the MTA Board to approve expenditures above the $137.8 million presently budgeted for the project.

Related note: This is the first time in which the MTA has posted it's Board Books on it's web site. It makes for some interesting reading, if you're into the wonkish legalese of MTA Board documents.

And nothing for LI Bus. PM drivers are having to wait to recieve buses for their shifts running late on their 1st trips.
I guess LIB will always be 9th class.....

Here you go. Not the best editng jobs in the world, but if that's what Nassau's going to pay for, then that's what they'll get in return.

You had to go to this link then since this LIB and LIRR. Only notable change is
- Improve N20/21 service
- Upgrade bus stop signs
- N94 revision bus service
- Buy cars for LIB paratransit

This was discussed previously, but MTA doesn't have a say over bus purchases for LI Bus. Nassau County is primarily responsible for LIB purchases, which may explain why the interiors of the LIB NGs are a little different from the NYCTA/MTA Bus NGs.

Actually now, they sorta do. Because if that was the case, the NGs would've came in with the orange stripe if Nassau was responsible for the last purchase.

I think that Nassau probably plays a role, but not as big a role as it may have in the past.

That's a good point.

Other than the passenger seats and the white roof-top light, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the LI Bus NGs and the TA/Bus Co NGs.

These buses still have Stop Requested tape and the windows aren't as tinted.

1700 has all of the rear stickers that would go on an NYCT unit; the rest do not have the NYCT-BUS sticker on them for safety.

That's the fault of Nassau County not buying enough buses.
