How does Suffolk Transit do relief runs? |
Posted by caine515 on Wed Jul 1 17:17:19 2009 I was on the B1 this afternoon and we were waiting at the relief point on 86th and stillwell. The relief driver never showed up so we had to take the following bus.I was wondering how does Suffolk Transit do relief on their lines? I'm thinking some lines don't do relief(like the S20 or 2B)-only reason i say this is because there is a gap of two hours during midday when these lines don't run so i'm thinking it's lunchtime. do the drivers have the same bus all day or is there a relief? Asking for in general of Suffolk Routes, not specific lines. B1-#5091/#9386-NOVABUS |

Out here in Southampton, I know on the 10A...one driver does the morning and then another driver does the afternoon and early evening. They switch at the Hampton Jitney Depot. If not there, then Southampton Plaza (that's what I call it...it really has no name but it should).Oh and on an unrelated note, I saw Gillig Phantom 30TB096 #9701 (the "little" EXTRA helper) on the S92 around 6:30 PM in Southampton Village heading towards Greenport. It was about 10 minutes behind Gillig Phantom 35TB102 #5096 but I did not see which sign it had (Greenport OR Orient Point...probably Orient Point). Gillig Phantom 35TB102 #9660 was on the S92 heading the other way towards East Hampton. That but was naked but no repaint. |
