The other day I explained that the X25 is interlined with a line coming up from Brooklyn and instead of deadheading back to Brooklyn on the AM (and coming in on the PM) it goes in servcie between midtown and downtown, so whatever the line picks up is gravy. Don't you read other people's posts? I'll let SI'ers judge the X20. |

Theres already subway service from castle gardens to grand easton terimal, this yuppish route might be elimated so we can save up $$$ and buy new subway cars. We NEED new subway cars ASAP!!!! our R38's are posting record low MDBF due to crappy maintince and old age. Also the DE40's need to hurry up and come!! Today bohan depot had a shortage due to many buses OOS with various issues. And bohan didn't even have a bus to cover the A53 route!! (Basically a shuttle route from algonquin to charge island only requies one bus) Broker had to cover the route until bohan had a bus free for the route. A53 riders had to wait nearly two hours for the bus to come, those bohan CNG's can't last much longer. These DE40's need to come to borker so bohan can get borker hand me down CNG's (Which are in much better shape). That is all folks. LTA, HERE, THERE, EVERYWERE!! |

NJTA Orion VII Hybrid update |

Posted by Ken S. on Wed Nov 19 01:11:39 2008, in response to Re: AX 2 route might be eliminated, posted by R33/R36 mainline on Wed Nov 19 00:30:50 2008. NJTA has removed the entire fleet of O7 Hybrids from service until the bugs are worked out. The various CMFs have been removing the fareboxes from the O7s and placing them back into the Metro-Bs and TMC RTS-06s they were taken out of. All buses at MTA Bus have been recalled. This includes Novas 1230-1279 and Metro-E's 2150-2199. |

Yea, they should expand it to have more lanes, not tear it down and build a new one elseware. Haven't heard much info about its replacment nearby in castle gardens, but if it has more space and capitcity than the current terimal then why not!! |

No, If you have an additional live trip w/ low ridership it is just a money pit. When you add a trip in place of a DHD you have to add recovery time for the purpose of recovering lateness so the next trip is able to start on time. A live trip takes more time than a DHD because of time points and dwell time. The terminal is away from the path of the DHD and addition DHD time still costs, so it's not gravy for the company it is addtional net loss even if there is a couple of fares paid it doesn't outweigh the overhead. Assume the DHD from 57 st to GCT is 15min. and there is 10min. recovery time then the X25 takes 30min. then it is a 45min. DHD from the WFC to UP depot, Thats 1:40 Minutes. The DHD would be only 1 hour. 40min. is still 40min. of pay and fuel and related overhead at a loss. |

Nothing should be cut...NOTHING!Even the X20, with 3 trips in each direction carrying an average of FIVE riders each??? All of its riders could easily fit on the X1, X3, X4, X8. |

I'm trying to wonder in my head what lines are going to go. For instance, the B11 in brooklyn isnt crowded on saturday but mobbed on sundays. The B23 is the same way. I'm grabbing the Daily News in the morning to see the damage. |

Save your 50 cents and buy it Friday as the MTA board meeting is Thursday AM. If are in NYC and have it on your cable system, NY1 will carry it live starting at 9:30 AM. |
