I believe it embarrasing too seeing that these buses come from utica to NJ to NY maybe inspection standards need to be tightened.

Also 6007-6012 are leaving us soon. There marked "HOLD"

So these buses are teething as bad, if not worse than the first set. I don't remember any of the Novas or the Orion Vs teething this badly.

I've heard some info. from a friend of someone who is privy to some info. (I don't know how reliable this is...)
that some high ranking officials are very upset.
They had high hopes for this product and are very disappointed with them. They also realize that they made huge commitments and have nowhere to turn now.

One of the first things I said was "Why would they introduce a new model on Staten Island first?". That was STUPID. QV went through hell with their first hybrid order, but most QV routes run every 10 minutes or better all day long. A busted Hybrid didn't screw life up. I can only imagine the service gaps occuring on SI now.

The first four or five units should have been shaken down before the rest showed up. 3800 did not have a flawless stay, but it performed better than the production units. NovaBus must smell blood to jump back into the US market. Maybe I ought to license some European buses and have them built here too (the LFS is licensed from a European company).

Service on SI sucks whether there's Hybrids or not.

Yukon is far worse than Castleton when it comes to reliability and they have no O7NGs (ok maybe 3854 but that doesn't change anything).

The S74 is always missing runs daily, the S44 has a terrible problem with bunching and long waits even though it runs every 15 minutes and the S61 is slow and unreliable and should have gotten the award over the S42.

But in general, the situation with the Hybrids isn't as bad it seems it would be, service-wise over at Castleton. There are plenty of service gaps but it's always been like that because they refuse to add more service to the schedules where needed. A broken down bus doesn't help anything, but I haven't seen any problems on the CAS routes due to the Hybrids yet.

The S42 will always be a Pokey champ. The whole point of the bus is to run up and down steep hills. Of course, the Strappies don't dig that deep.

You guys should probably hold on to the Orion V buses as long as the hyshit buses are really bad on SI.
